Dr.Mahboubeh Mahmoudabadi PhD candidate in Health Psychology, began her clinical practice 7 years ago as an analytical psychotherapist and couple therapist. She has an interest in psychosomatic disorders, the impact of trauma—especially migration—on mental health, and group therapy. Over the past year, she has attended various online trauma-focused courses with the following experts:
Professor Judith Herman: Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard University and a prominent trauma researcher.
Dr. Dia Kaluyalil:Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard University, psychotherapist, and trauma researcher.
Dr. Paula Michelle Contreras:Psychoanalyst at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (BPSI), Associate Professor at William James College, USA.
In the field of group therapy, she has completed the following programs: Analytical Group Therapy with Professor Scott Rutan, a distinguished group therapist, former president of the American Group Psychotherapy Association, co-founder of the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute, and the Massachusetts Group Psychotherapy Center.
Principles of Group Therapy under the guidance of Dr. Haim Weinberg (group therapist and author), Dr. Leo Liderman (psychotherapist and board member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association), and Dr. Kavita Avula (psychotherapist and president of Therapists Without Borders).
Mahmoudabadi has also participated in various courses offered by institutions such as Ham Ava, Manjeh, and PersPsy. Currently, she is pursuing an advanced course in Object Relations at the Iranian Psychoanalytic Institute under the supervision of Dr. Mahdieh Moein.
