Dr. Mahshid Taj

Dr. Mahshid Taj is a board-certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist who graduated from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 2004. With over two decades of experience in the field, she has been dedicated to providing both individual and group psychotherapy since 2001, with a primary focus on psychodynamic therapy.

Dr. Taj’s expertise goes beyond clinical practice. She has been deeply involved in public health, particularly in the area of mental health education and advocacy. Her work has extended to both national and international levels, including collaborations with the World Health Organization (WHO), where she has contributed to initiatives aimed at improving mental health literacy among the public and advancing professional development for mental health practitioners.

While her core therapeutic approach is psychodynamic, Dr. Taj integrates other evidence-based modalities in her practice, especially in the treatment of trauma and relationship difficulties. She has extensive experience working with couples, applying the latest therapeutic approaches to help them navigate their challenges and enhance their relationships.

Dr. Taj is also passionate about women’s mental health.
