Adult Psychodynamic counseling

Over the years of my work as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, I have continually encountered individuals who courageously bring the narratives of their lives into the therapy room, narratives that, despite the suffering caused by depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, interpersonal struggles, and other symptoms, carry deeper questions about the self, relationships, and the meaning of life and existence.

In the psychoanalytic approach, the goal is not merely symptom reduction but rather arriving at a new experience of the self, an experience in which one can recognize the hidden roots of past suffering, become more aware of their inner world, and attain a fuller presence in the here and now.

The experience of migration and living within a new culture, with all its ruptures, silent griefs, and internal and external transformations, is another realm I am deeply familiar with, both personally and professionally. I believe that the psyche of the migrant moves between two parallel worlds, and this state can become a deeply challenging yet meaningful space for insight, reconstruction, and psychoanalytic work, a space where new narratives may begin to emerge.

In our sessions, we listen together, we pause, and piece by piece, we attempt to rebuild connections that may have been lost along the journey of life or migration, so that voices, feelings, and narratives once silenced or forgotten may once again begin to flow and be heard.
